KAIST Grand Challenge 30 Project
aims to create a paradigm shift in research by encouraging researchers to adopt a long-term approach to global issues or challenges in basic sciences, and to engage in innovative/creative research activities.
The project supports long-term research on the creation of new theories, overcoming of scientific challenges, unprecedented ideas, new fields, and topics that have not seen any recent developments.
In basic sciences (focused on natural and biological sciences), the project promotes long-term research under the goal of developing creative ideas and nurturing talents. In applied sciences (engineering and convergence science), interdisciplinary research is emphasized to establish a virtuous ecosystem contributing to the advancement of the creative economy.
