2026년 KC30사업 신규과제 공모
○ 글로벌 난제, 인류 지식에서 가장 근본적인 질문 등에 대한 연구를 장기적으로
수행할 수 있도록 지원함
○ 연구 결과의 성공 여부를 평가하지 않음
○ KAIST 전임직 교원으로 임용 후 5년이 경과된 자(2026.3.1 기준)
※ 정교수는 임용 기간에 관계 없이 신청 가능
○ 학부과정 재학생(2026년 8월 졸업예정자 신청 불가)
○ 글로벌 난제
○ 기초과학 분야에서 가장 근본적인 질문
○ 현재 본인이 주력으로 하고 있는 연구와 무관한 주제
○ 외부에서 연구비를 받기 어려운 주제
○ 현재 핫 이슈가 아닌 주제
○ 10년 이내 상업화가 불가능한 주제
○ 연구기간 : 최소 3년에서 최대 30년까지
○ 연구비 : 이론 20백만원/연 내외, 실험 25백만원/연 내외
※ 인건비는 계상 가능(총 연구비의 50% 이내 권장)하며, 간접경비는 없음
※ 연구기간 및 연구비는 발표심사 시 조정될 수 있음
※ 상기 일정은 진행 상황에 따라 변동될 수 있음
◯ 연구주제에 대한 개요, 일반적인 해결 방안 등을 소개하는 세계적 연구현황,
본인의 독창적 해결법을 소개하는 연구 방법을 제시
◯ 연구의 성격이 상기 ‘3. 신청 대상’에 기재된 내용에 2개 이상 해당하는 이유를 명시
◯ 연구의 필요성, 기대효과 등의 기재 불요
◯ 고등학생도 이해할 수 있는 평이한 언어로 2~3쪽 정도 작성
◯ 연구 계획서·보고서 제출
- 매년 연차계획서, 연차보고서(자체평가 의견서 포함) 등 제출 - 단계 종료 시점에 단계보고서 및 차기 단계계획서 제출
◯ 수행 결과 평가
Call for Proposal for 2026 KC30 Project
□ To support long-term projects in fundamental research that address global challenges □ To promote original research which outcomes are not evaluated as the selection criteria of proposals
□ Full-time faculty members who have served at KAIST for five years
(as of March 1, 2026) or longer are eligible to apply.
※ Full professor(not associate or assistant professor) can apply regardless of employment period. □ Enrolled undergraduate students
(Students who will graduate in August 2026 can not apply)
□ Research issues that address global challenges
□ Fundamental questions in basic sciences
□ Topics or ideas which are not related to main research projects
undertaken by an applicant
□ Topics that are original and difficult to receive grants
□ Topics which are not currently considered as popular research subjects
□ Topics that will be less likely to become commercialized within the
next 10 years
□ Research period: From a minimum of 3 years to a maximum of 30 years □ Amount of funding: Around 20(theory) and 25(experiment) million KRW per project/year ※ Research Period and Funding are subject to adjustment ※ Approximately 50% of total research funds can be appropriated at maximum to labor cost. Overhead costs shall not be appropriated.

□ Please present an overview of your research topic, global research status including general solutions, and your own unique solution.
□ Please state clearly why your proposed research meets with at least two of the contents in item 3 above. □ There is no need to state the impact or expected results of the proposed research.
□ Write 2 or 3 pages that outline your proposal in plain language.
□ Research Report Submission - (Annually) : Research Plan Report, Self-evaluation Report, Research Result Report, etc. - (5th Year) : Research Result Report(for 5 year) and Research Plan Report for next stage (for 5 year) □ Evaluation
