Research Venture Research Program for Graduate Students
The Venture Research Program for Graduate Students of the College of Natural Sciences provides funding for graduate students who perform research with academic depth but unsuitable for publication, or are deemed deserving of the KAIST Ig-Novel Prize.
Students who present innovative research ideas and engage in out-of-the-box thinking are funded each year under the program.
Once research is complete, students exhibit posters of their results and organize presentation sessions. Prizes are given to students whose projects are received favorably by the audience.
The judging committee consists of one department per faculty, amounting to a total of four judges. Proposals submitted by March are considered for funding, and the selected students proceed with their projects until December.
The results are presented in January the following year, and prizes are awarded to outstanding projects.
